Notification and registration with state authorities
In accordance with the Russian legislation foreign nationals are required to be registered at the place of stay in Russia within 3 days after crossing the Russian border. The same procedure of de-registration is applicable upon the departure.
A confirmation of the executed registration, a detachable part of the notification, is provided to the relevant authorities.
Violation of the legal requirement to register involves strict measures of responsibility and imposed penalties; the highest measure of responsibility is deportation of the foreign national from Russia with the following prohibition to enter Russia within 5 years.
